About Our Founder
Mary Kate McGrath is the founder of The Finery Collective, a marketing consultancy focused on helping consumer brands unlock new revenue streams and strengthen brand positioning in the AI era.
Most recently, she served as Chief Brand Officer at Gallery Media Group, where she oversaw brands including PureWow, Coveteur, Cocktails, and a portfolio of 50+ social-first consumer brands reaching more than 200 million consumers. In the role, she led brand innovation and new business initiatives spanning influencer and creator partnerships, podcasts, social commerce, and experiential events tied to major cultural moments including Coachella, Art Basel, and the Super Bowl.
Prior to rejoining Gallery Media Group, Mary Kate was Chief Operating Officer at Some Spider Studios, where she helped architect the company’s sale to Bustle Digital Group in 2021. During her first tenure at Gallery Media Group, she served as Chief Content Officer, overseeing editorial and creative strategy across the company’s expanding portfolio.
Mary Kate originally joined PureWow as Editor-in-Chief in 2013, following more than a decade in consumer brand roles at American Express, InStyle, Real Simple, and Travel & Leisure.
Mary Kate lives in New York with her husband, Alex, and their two children. She plays tennis often…and poorly.
